National Australian Introverts Coalition Cancel Annual Convention For 20th Year Running
The NAIC (National Australian Introverts Coalition) is the leading representative body of Australian introverts. The group strive for the rights of introverts in a world which they claim is dominated by “extroverts and shit heads”.
Their annual convention, held in Sydney each year, is where introverts from across the nation meet to discuss all things calm, quiet and well thought out. The organisation has held the convention annually since its inception in 1996, but has consistently cancelled it year after year due to zero turnout among members.
Introverts get a lot of their energy from down time, and contrary to popular belief they are not necessarily shy, timid or boring. They instead require alone time to rest and recoup, that’s why so many of them prefer to leave parties early, have one on one conversations or develop a general dislike for you (if you’re an extroverted shit head.)
The conference hall (above) was empty for the entirety of the conference, except for catering staff.
Despite the consistent cancellations, the NAIC convention continues to be held each year because members feel it’s healthy to have it as an option. Comedy Central Human People reached out to NAIC for comment and we were told in a personal, well written email that members considered the convention too much for them to attend.
