Qatar Admits Stadiums Will Be Haunted By The Ghosts of Dead Migrant Labourers

The organising committee of the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup have admitted their purpose-built stadiums will be haunted by the ghosts of the nearly 1300 underpaid migrant labourers who died during the construction of the stadiums.

On Wednesday, FIFA announced that the Qatari World Cup organising committee (due to host the 2022 FIFA World Cup) sent them a letter stating that their facilities -- including stadiums, hotels, transport infrastructure and entertainment precincts -- are haunted by spirits and ghosts. Supernatural experts claim the hauntings are due to the spirits of migrant labourers who have perished during the construction process.

The letter came after several reports of supernatural activity from construction firms and labourers on site. Ghost armies (numbering in the hundreds) have already started wandering the grounds and football pitches.

Severe heat, appalling conditions and cost cutting have resulted in almost 1200 deaths since construction began.

But FIFA now has a much bigger problem on its hands. A handful of ghosts is usually harmless, given that ghosts can’t be seen, heard, felt or tasted. However, a high concentration of spirits (especially ones stuck in purgatory due to, say, an untimely death or injustice) is cause for concern. Energy levels that high have been known to result in ghosts that can very well be seen, heard, felt and tasted.

An eerie glow surrounds one of the nation’s flagship stadiums.

Furthermore, a growing number of reports indicate that the ghosts are angry about the exploitation, horrific conditions, and untimely deaths experienced in the name of a football tournament. Hauntings, ghouls and spirits can have a detrimental impact on any sporting event given how traumatic and terrifying dealing with a ghost can be. The risk of interruptions during matches will surely tarnish the historic tournament.

In addition to their treatment of labourers, Qatar has received a lot of heat over the way in which they won their bid to host the World Cup. They have also received a lot of heat from the sun, which is forcing them to construct purpose-built air-conditioned stadiums and to host the tournament in cooler months. The influx of ghosts, however, will surely cool things down because spooky vibes are always cold, in a way very much like the cold, unforgiving indifference that multi-national conglomerates and organisations have towards workers’ rights.
